Why Roseville Utilities Are Better

One of the first steps you’ll take after signing a lease or finding a place to live is to set up your utilities. You do want water and electricity before you move in, right?

Scheduling or planning for the transfer and connection of utilities in a new home before moving in has the potential to be quite daunting (read as not fun!), but not in Roseville! Why you ask?

Roseville has a consolidated utilities billing & service – making it just that much easier for you to set up and pay online – allowing you to focus on the more fun things in life!

In a survey conducted by Roseville Today, Utilities ranked in the top 10 core ‘livability’ reasons by residents. In fact, “Roseville residents gave exceptional marks to utilities in the community. 97% of community members responded that the overall quality of the utility infrastructure was excellent or good, while 92% stated similarly for storm water management, putting both items much higher than the national average.”

Along with the ease of set up, all utilities are managed in house to provide residents with cost-effective and innovate service. This also allows for you to enjoy some of the lowest utility rates in the region.

So what utility services are included?

  1. Water
  2. Sewer/Wastewater
  3. Trash/Refuse
  4. Electricity

Gas will still be provided by PG&E. If the home was built after January 1, 2023 you likely will not have gas/natural gas due to the new law passed (see more on that law here).

With most of the electric utility lines being underground, this also means less (if any) power outages. During the most recent wild wind storm earlier this year, there were no major reported power outages. Not to mention that the power outage you hear about most often are due to PG&E shutting down power preemptively. Roseville does not do rolling brown/blackouts.

As technology advances, so does Roseville’s service delivery. This includes the use of Smart Meters and apps, that allow customers to monitor their energy consumption and bills.

Another FREE place to check out is the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. This one-of-a-kind learning center is provides a look inside Roseville’s utility systems that keep our community safe, healthy and strong. Visitors can learn how to save energy, water and reduce waste to protect the watershed.

If you’re even more curious, you can sign up to take a tour of the facilities and discover the unseen systems that keep Roseville running!

Overall, Roseville’s utility offerings are more reliable, affordable and sustainable. Just one of the many reasons making Roseville an excellent place to live.
